Welcome to Barebones and Muskogee

Congratulations on becoming part of the BAREBONES INTERNATIONAL INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL ALUMNI! We are super excited that you will be joining us at the festival this year. Plan on meeting a lot of wonderful people and seeing some incredible movies.

April is Muskogees' Azalea Festival month, so make plans to become one of the 100,000 annual visitors to our world famous Honor Heights Park.

Take a moment as well to visit some our unique historical museums and scout some one of kind places to shoot scenes for your next movie. Home of the Renaissance Castle theme park, this location is a bustling city during Renaissance Fair Days with over 80,000 visitors passing through its' gates in only four weekends. Take a moment to step back in time to a location the History Channel has used to shoot historical docu-dramas like Attila the Hun.

With 40,000 friendly inhabitants, Oklahomas' River City, Muskogee, has restaurants of local richness and national chain recognition. Known for its' barbecue, Muskogee has more southwest flavor barbecue restaurants per capita than any city in the state. Be sure to taste some of the smoked flavor of Oklahomas' barbecue capital.

Besides being the city where the very first Girl Scout Cookie was baked and sold, Muskogee is also the hometown of the world famous Brady Bunch dad, Robert Reed. A graduate of what was then Muskogee Central High, he was a late contemporary of another famous Muskogee Hollywood legend, Clu Gulagher, a veteran of more than seventy motion pictures.

With one of the nations furthest inland ports, Muskogee has one of the few submarine memorials in the nation and is a fifteen minute drive from the states oldest Fort and City, Fort Gibson.

Register at your hotel early for the film music and festival and plan on coming early or staying a day or two over to see the sights after you have gorged yourself on movies, fellowship, music, live entertainment, food and fun.

As well don't forget to take a moment to meet the directors and staff of Oklahomas' most progressive and exciting Chamber Of Commerce and Tourism Department and be sure to have your picture taken with them and one of the Citys' eight foot guitars.

Yes, we are happy to have you join us at the "worlds' friendliest film festival" in the worlds' friendliest city. See you soon.

All My Best
