Muskogee Area Arts Council sponsors the Bare Bones Movie Poster Competition
Judging throught the festival April 16-26
 
Bare Bones Filmworks & Darkwood Studios (Festival Headquarters) Hosts "Welcome to Muskogee" Reception for Festival Attendees-Thurs. April 16-5:00 pm-5:00 pm at the ROXY
 
Fort Gibson-Living History & Old Fort Heritage Days-Step back in time when the oldest town in Oklahoma housed the Buffalo Soldiers to protect the residents of Indian Territory.  This was before Judge Parker of Ft. Smith hired Deputy U.S. Marshals to 'bring the bandits in 'dead or alive' to his infamous hanging court.

Three Rivers Museum will offer Historic Trolley Tours of Downtown Muskogee

Muskogee Parks & Recreation will host the Annual Azalea Parade through the streets of Downtown Muskogee

The Muskogee Exchange Club will raise money for kids with this year's Chili Cookoff (draws crowds of 30,000) Eat chili, listen to diverse music, vote for your favorite BBQ, Chili and Showmanship, Mix and Mingle with Oklahoma's friendliest people.  Promote your film screening.  Bare Bones will have a booth available for you to help serve chili and network.  Buy a tasters kit or $6 and sample chili, bbq, wings and more.

The 5 Tribes Museum hosts the annual "Art Under the Oaks" Market, Arts & Native American crafts & Performance festival until 5:00 pm.

Thinking of shooting in the Greater Muskogee Area and want to get a preview of talented Oklahomans?  Plan to attend the Live Actors Workshop, Auditions & Showcase event at the Roxy. Concludes with Staged Screenplay Readings

Attention Audience & Film Buffs, get interactive with the film producers, directors and cinematographers as they share how they made their movies, start to finish. You ask the questions, they will supply the answers.  Get tips on how to get started, pitfalls to avoid, staying motivated to complete the process, what's next on their production slate.

Muskogee Area Film Production's Shoot 'n OK Locations Tour or the Muskogee Azalea Park & The Castle of Muskogee, two of our favorite shoot locations for movies-, Oklahoma's River City Portal: Arkansas River Marina, Batfish Submarine, Illinois River, Eufaula Lake   Van transportation and caravan to locations. Sign up early.       Mon-Wed: April 20-21-22.
 
Darkwood Film Arts Institute invites you to share your personal journey into the art & business of Filmmaking as you visit & talk with local school age youth in the Muskogee Area during the Movie-Biz Career Days, Van transportation and caravan to locations.  Sign up early, bring a "G" rated promo trailer to share.

Muskogee Area Arts Council/Oklahoma Arts Council sponsors the youth film day when middle & high school students attend the festival for a special workshop panel and select movies.  Filmmakers give 3-5 minute talks in between movies.

VIP Filmmakers/Producers/Screenwriters/Actors & VIP All-Access Passholders are invited to a special Dinner/Speaker/Entertainment event. Sponsored by various Muskogee Businesses. After watching movies, movies and more movies, grab your guitar and join the Youngest Mayor in the United States-John Tyler Hammons-Grand Marshal as he leads the way for the STARS-CARS-GUITARS Festival Parade with the Cruisin Angels Car Club, lots of Stars (Ok, they may be look-a-likes) and Guitars (We are home to the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame & Museum).  Joining the parade will be Wizard of Oz Legend, JERRY MAREN, the Lollipop Munchin and MTV Film Star Randal Malone.
