THE BARE BONES INDIE AUTEUR

It is the only award of it's kind given anywhere in the world. It's a recognition of our cornerstone value,By any means necessary. That doesn't mean by hook or by crook. Nor does it mean you give up your values of integrity, nobility and honor. Or set aside the qualities of comraderie, compassion, kindness, self-control or goodness.

It means you are willing to, and have taken on any and every task that is necessary to complete your project.
It is great to have the budget for a full crew. But budgets alone don't guarantee the completion of a project or it's quality. That takes, determination, commitment, drive and that little extra willpower that most people don't have. It is the relentless drive that pushes past every obstacle, every challenge, every problem, every wrong turn, every disappointment, every failure, every mistake and every nasayer that tells you to quit.

The INDIE AUTEUR AWARD recognizes that person of many hats that will not stop, until the job is done. That person who sets a standard of stick-to-it-tiveness that we all admire, respect and revere. That something, that spurs on great explorers, lonely scientists, insistent investigators, and every human endeavor someone has said was impossible.

For us, at BareBones, it is the ultimate honor that we can bestow on any filmmaker.

BIO:
Sandon Yahn studied film production at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. After producing several student films, Sandon moved to Los Angeles and focused his attention on screenwriting. The opportunity to work in the field of video production presented itself in 2008, when Sandon was responsible for producing many of the promotional videos as well as in-house slide shows for Pacific Camps Family Resources Inc. In 2010, Sandon was hired as the head of the video ministry at Calvary Chapel Oxnard. The experience gained from years of screenwriting and producing videos has allowed Sandon the opportunity to help collaborate with Isaac Meeks on the production of Redemption of the Heart. Driven by his Christian faith and the desire to tell a good story, Sandon's vision is to produce films that share the love of Jesus to those who don't know the gospel.

"Through the stories of the parables, Jesus would teach the character of God to those who had ears to hear and eyes to see. Moviemaking isn't any different."
-- Sandon Yahn

WITH YOU

withyou_.jpg

"Scott McEntire calls Arkansas home, but his home city is currently in flux. Scott first began working in film in the summer of 1992 while earning a featured part on The Ernest Green Story (starring Morris Chestnut and directed by Eric Laneuville). Prior to this, Scott's training had come as a theater actor starting in 1986. Following his work on Ernest Green, he did commercial and training work, and eventually left for Warsaw, Poland, where he had a career in technology and pursued a baseball career with the Polish First Division team, the Warsaw Centaurs.

After returning to the United States and his home state of Arkansas, Scott was introduced to the independent film scene by co-writing and starring in the film, "Anyone", a Best Film festival award winner which screened in multiple southern regional festivals. His first directing role was for a short film he also had written, "TwinkleTown", which screened at multiple film festivals across the States. Scott has gone on to write 3 short films and 2 features, which have had successful festival runs or are still in production. One of those features is "With You", where he served as writer, executive producer, lead actor, assistant editor, and co-director, and which is an official selection of the 2017 Bare Bones Film Festival.

Scott assists with the organizing committee in a growing role for the Royal Film Festival in Benton, AR. He has just wrapped principal photography for the feature film, "The Boo", whose script was nominated at the 2016 Bare Bones Festival for Best Horror Feature Script. Scott is serving as writer, director, actor, assistant editor, and executive producer of the film. Scott owns and operates Clever Alibi Productions out of central Arkansas with his business partner, Clayton Bowman."
