Danny Boy O'Connor is the owner and driving force behind Tulsa's Outsiders House Museum, a project dedicated to the preservation of the home and memorabilia used in The Outsiders, filmed by Francis Ford Coppola in 1982 in Tulsa, OK. The museum is also a tribute to the enduring universal appeal of Tulsa author S.E. Hinton's bestselling novel.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Danny Boy moved to California in the mid-1970s. In the 1990's he gained fame as an American rapper and founding member of the hip hop group, House of Pain. The group signed with Tommy Boy records in 1992 and released a debut album that went
multi-platinum, followed by two more albums. The group's hit song Jump Around, familiar in movies and at sports events, climbed the charts internationally and ranks high on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the 90s.

Today, in addition to creating and owning The Outsiders House Museum, Danny Boy tours with the hip hop super group La Coka Nostra. An artist and designer, he's also involved with the Delta Bravo Urban Exploration Team, a collaboration of passionate pop culture sleuths. Delta Bravo explorers scour cities seeking the original locations used in album covers, movies and scenes,
including iconic photo shoots featuring musicians, artists and actors. The adventure yields a mindblowing
treasure of juxtaposed pictures of the original site compared to how it appears today.

In 2009, during a concert tour layover in Tulsa, that same sense of adventure prompted Danny to seek out The Outsiders film locations. Having read about many of them online, he was surprised that the locations were still intact two decades after filming and even more amazed that no one had stepped up to preserve the historical significance of the bungalow where much of the movie was
filmed. Danny returned to Tulsa on several occasions, never shaking the belief that the Curtis brothers house needed to be saved and shared with future generations.

As decades passed, the Outsiders house fell into disrepair and narrowly escaped demolition. In 2016, Danny Boy finally asked himself, Why not me? and purchased it. His goal: restore The Outsiders House as it appeared in the movie, while also creating a museum to share his extensive
collection of Outsiders memorabilia. Danny's commitment was immediately evident; he and his wife, Treasure Stephanie O'Connor, relocated to Tulsa to work on making the dream a reality.

The Outsiders House museum is scheduled to open in late 2018. Most of the work restoring the physical structure of the interior and exterior of the house has been completed. Work continues on creating neighborhood friendly parking, building the necessary custom exhibit cabinets, shelves
and cases, constructing additional museum space and restrooms.
