JOHN COOPER
Society Editor for several newspapers over the years, John Cooper kept his finger on the pulse of who's who in and around
Muskogee Oklahoma for many years.
I knew him personally as a 5 year old, a 16 year old and as a college student. He often ate dinner with my family on Thursdays
which was often fried chicken.
His contributions and service to Muskogee's entire community is not to be forgotten.

Many photographers contributed to this collection. Kent D. Johnson, Sugar Ray Studios, James D. Fowler, John Halser, Tommie
Twine to name a few. If anyone knows of more, do let us know.
If you find name spelling errors, do send us corrections for this work-in-progress.

Once upon a time these photos adorned the walls of the Martin L. King, Jr. Center on North 3rd Street as an exhibit of Photos
honoring young and old, Black and White Distinguished men and women.
A WORK IN PROGRESS to fill in the historic biographies. Now re-activated for future generations thanks to the digital
files from LegacyKeeper 2017-Thomas "Tommie" Twine.
We invite YOU (community & descendants, historians) to send updated info: birth, death, interment, accomplishments,
biography, etc to legacykeepersrus@gmail.com and we will update.
